Costa Rica's Culture
Costa Rica consists of mostly Roman Catholic faith, for this reason most of the celebrations and holidays are of Roman Catholic beliefs. Although, Costa Rica is mostly Roman Catholic there is also a tremendous amount of diversity in skin color, race and backgrounds making Costa Rica a very diverse country.
Celebrations
Costa Rica has many celebrations as they are both of Roman Catholic and Spanish background. Some celebrations include Christmas Day, New Years Day, Independence Day, Easter Day and many more.
New Year's January 1st
This day is celebrated very heavily in Costa Rica. It is the beginning of a New Year, they have parades until late at night, and many parties are held the night of New Years eve similar to how it is celebrated here.
Easter Day March 31st
Easter Day is another celebration that is well known in Costa Rica. Roman Catholics come together to celebrate the death and rebirth of Jesus. There are parades, parties, festival games, and church done festivals on this day.
Independence Day September 15th
Independence Day is the most celebrated celebration in Costa Rica. People come together to celebrate the Independence from Spain and becoming their own country. Costa Rican's are extremely proud of their country and their independence from other countries. On this day they have festivals, parties, games and parades.
Christmas Day December 25th
Christmas in Costa Rica is one of the most Celebrated celebrations in the Country, it is Jesus's birthday to Roman Catholics. They celebrate it similar to the way we celebrate it by decorating trees, having parades and having dress up Santa's at town squares.

Recipe Guacamole
Ingredients
3 Haas avocados, halved, seeded and peeled
1 lime, juiced
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon cayenne
1/2 medium onion, diced
1/2 jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced
2 Roma tomatoes, seeded and diced
1 tablespoon chopped cilantro
1 clove garlic, minced
Directions
In a large bowl place the scooped avocado pulp and lime juice, toss to coat. Drain, and reserve the lime juice, after all of the avocados have been coated. Using a potato masher add the salt, cumin, and cayenne and mash. Then, fold in the onions, jalapeno, tomatoes, cilantro, and garlic. Add 1 tablespoon of the reserved lime juice. Let sit at room temperature for 1 hour and then serve.
